we've been doing a lot of relaxing lately. several days at the beach. you may have gathered that from all the beach photos over on flickr. lazy days at the park between the quick drop into the grocery store and heading home. no real agenda needing sticking to. it's been nice. we watched 'remember the titans' the other night. i have never seen it. thought it was very well done. been doing a bit of hand stitching, inspiration from this book, ironic that i'm hand stitching and the book is called 'machine made patchworks'. i've been enjoying it....it's relaxing. knitting another hat inspired by this one over on the purlbee.....i made one, cutting it short due to lack of yarn, so it doesn't fit me....i'm glad about that though, i want mine to have a different top. inspired by my friend molly, and her latest compiling of recipes, here is an oldie but a goodie favorite of mine:cucumber dill salad
[i don't tend to follow recipes to the exact, so give or take to your liking]
2 english or japanese cucumbers sliced
1 small red onion sliced
fresh dill sprinkled generously all over and mixed in well
[dill:the more the better for me]
1/4 cup olive oil
1 1/2 tbs. white wine vinegar
salt + pepper to taste
yummy! i just bought some cucumbers today (of the persian variety) at trader joe's. i might have to try this. as for dill, i have a salad dressing recipe i will have to post soon - i think you will love it based on this recipe :)
ReplyDeletei like your camera strap! is that fabric or ribbon? i've been keeping my eye out for the right scrap of something to use to embellish mine.
ReplyDeletemmm . . . delightful and very weather appropriate!
ReplyDeletecan't wait for that dressing recipe molly!
ReplyDeleteapril, it's some fabric that i folded to the right width and stitched on....you could mail me your strap....i have lots of fun fabric in my stash....
haley, try it and let me know what you think...i still need the recipe for those 'break up' bars. often i break up some bickering between girls, or i break up a dirt clod. sometimes i break up a frozen brown rice packet from trader joes.....do you think i could have the recipe? xo.
