tom's. for every pair you purchase, tom's gives a pair to a child in need. we are trying to partner with tom's here where we live and work. my husband has been in contact with them, they sent us shoes and sent shoes to two children. we are trying to be more active. we are trying to learn more, share more, give more. our girls would like to wear tom's....not because they are comfortable, cute or cozy....which they are....but because they like that a child in need would be given a pair. that they would be connected to a child in africa. a child like the one from daddy's story. the story of when he was sixteen, in south africa, and met a little boy who he carried back to the village from the river because he had worms festering in the exposed wounds on his bare feet. they want to help. they want to try and do something. when it feels like all hope is lost. that unless we do big things it won't matter, we discover another small way to make a big difference. i have a dear friend who goes to an african dance class every week, usually more than once....she has invited me to go several times. i always shy away, ask if i could go and be a wallflower....laugh nervously and just never mention it again. but you know what, i just might take her up on the offer. we're dreaming of a local dance recital, children all wearing tom's, all african dance, african drumming, a community together enjoying making a difference. i think i could step out of my comfort zone a little, cut a rug in a totally new way to make a greater difference. a first step in getting that dream accomplished. gotta make connections to get things done sometimes. don't you think that be so cool!
i just recently...aweekago...found out about toms.
