25 things.

for maria. i love you friend!!!

1.green beans give me a headache [not really, but that is what my dad and i used to say to get out of eating them].
2.my three daughters are three of my favorite people ever.
3.i love the english language. i wanted to be an english teacher until my least favorite english teacher told me i would make a great english teacher.....then i turned my back on the thought. i can be rebellious in the most un-harmful ways, expect to myself. i'm very stubborn. [and don't think my grammer or spelling will be anything like that of an english teacher, remember, i turned my back!]
4.i live a 13 mile hike from the pacific ocean.
5.i have a nasty blood clotting issue. they say it runs in families, but i'm the first...guess things have to start somewhere?
6.i love the smell of camp fires, but i don't love sleeping with the smell, unless i'm camping.
7.i love balloons and rainbows and streamers and fireworks.
8.i grew up in rural minnesota. 21 kids in my grade. one of 7 who didn't live on a farm. population of my town:600.
9.i love sweet corn.
10.i love to knit and always always have a project on the needles.
11.i also love to sew, crochet, embroider and all around create through fiber.
12.i like to run.the longest i've ever run is 6.5 miles. growing up i was always completely worried about the pe 1mile run we were made to do in school so i always walked and never thought i would be able to run a mile. ever. so i never tried until a couple years ago.then i ran a mile.
13.kale is a new favorite food.
14.i have been gluten-free for the past 5.5 years. the depression i experienced after losing my dad was terrible. one of the first recommendations in my natural healing book was to cut out wheat gluten, i cut out all gluten and had a tremendous turn around.
15.growing up i never thought i would be able to survive the loss of one of my parents. come to find out i can...though it's hard. still. other than my family, most people who i am around never knew me before my dad was sick and passed on, i am different, they don't know that.
16.i love coffee, but it makes me crazy. when i have the self control to drink just one cup a day i will start drinking it again, until then i am stickin' to tea. [art of tea: pear/green=incredible]
17.i love the library so much. i would go there everyday, but i think the librarians already think i'm nuts coming several times a week. BUT i just discovered the magazines in the back. um. hello! i didn't have a library growing up, i think i am determined to give my children a different experience when it comes to books. i did read books as a child, we had a bookshelf in our entry-way to our home, i would lay there pulling off one at a time reading them over and over again. my parents would also buy my books from the school book sales as well. loved scholastic book sales.
18.camping is one of my favorite things to do. i sleep the best sleeping on the ground in fresh air.
19.i have a dream of cycling around ireland when i am fifty. it's been on my goal list over ten years now. i am trying to come up with a good cycling goal for when i turn forty. i'm 33 so i better pick, plan and prepare
20.i have tattoos. one on my back, one on my leg, one on my hand, three on my arms. my left arm is sleeved. they other will be before i know it. they all have meaning. they all are important. i will be fine if my children want tattoos. i will encourage them to think full body and work their way down.....i forget i have tattoos and the stereotypes that folks may have of me because of this. i'm just a regular ol' small town girl. sensitive, sincere, and usually nice.
21.i love being around water. river, ocean, lake, creek....any water makes life better.
22.i have revelations in my dreams. i remember things from childhood i had forgotten in my awake state, i solve problems, and decipher unknowns all while i sleep...catcher: i remember when i wake up too.
23.someday i hope to have a great big garden of my own.
24.i had a wonderful childhood with wonderful parents, brothers, grandparents, uncles, aunties and cousins. my family is so special.
25.my husband is my best friend. he knows. he understands. he can read between the lines if there ever are any. he makes me mad and irritated. he makes me laugh and roll my eyes. he makes me want to be a better person while i walk this earth. he works hard. he picks up my slack. he's an incredible dad. he's an incredible leader. he's an all around super fantastic guy.
