m a k i n g

i know, i know i swore i wouldn't knit on anything until Ocean's birthday shawl from last september was finished! but people! babies were being born!! i couldn't help it. then, i lost track of where i was on the shawl & felt daunted by the counting and such. so....

i started a sweater for phoenix. some instant gratification: a girl who's thrilled about everything her mother makes clothes wise or other (except food....she'd much rather eat what mother nature has to offer than food's i come up with like pancakes or scones. just give her some lettuce, berries, cucumber & she's good to go). i love the top of the nova, so i'm hodge podgeing numbers together to get her a pullover sweater with that top. this math i don't mind. the body is nice and long to work with her loooong torso & i've just cast on the sleeves. she and i drew up a couple sleeve options, then together we decided on the little puff'ish sleeve ( i was so hoping she'd choose that one!) so i started, frogged, and started again. this whole custom sweater thing is becoming really fun. being on a small[er] scale i don't think too much about making grand mistakes...a little ripping out won't stop the world from turning it just might increase the amount of patience my eldest needs to tap into.

  1. I love this. And I really need to pick my Nova back up. Since mine is a size tiny, I have no excuses for not making progress.
