you wouldn't have believed our conversations the night before whale watching. our imaginations in this household can go off the charts. we all have it, all five of us, that crazy imagination. eric & i can still play & get into their world: sushi in the pond out of mud and moss, barbie's in the bath getting out that sass-ball attitude, explorers to machu picchu who slip down a deep crevasse into the 'land of the lost'. we imagine big in this family. dreams of tomorrow, the future, what may come & how it may be. tears at the thought of sixteen in three years, or death, or crickets in the bed.

Q. what if a whale tips our boat?
A. no biggie, we'll swim to shore!

Q. what if the boat knocks us out as we flip? A. no biggie, we'll have life jackets so we'll float.

(now enter the tears)
Q. what if a shark comes while we're knocked out just floating there?
A. no biggie, seriously, the dolphins will save us, haven't you heard of flipper?

i had answers because i had *already* imagined the same things. when we were out there, not in my wildest dreams could i have come up with what we saw & experienced.

this is a reminder, though our scope of imagination is pretty big already, to keep dreaming big. being November, a month of gratitude, dream big in the direction of goodness, thanksgiving, joy. life as an adventure and journey, age getting us one step closer to our goals and exciting ideas, strength & growth through death. imagine flight and freedom...there's no harm in doing that and there is scope for imagination here.

(now off to move our netflix queue around and add flipper to the top of the list)!
