solstice to solstice [w.1-13]

response to week one's word: dark

solstice to solstice: winter [1.14-dark]

dark

swallowed whole.
into the crack. swept away no looking back.
perspective lost. eyes open, closed. midnight blue,
most striking black.
nothingness.
dormant.

unseen.
unrealized.
unfulfilled.
unused.

potential. surrender. laid out, opened up.
reliance found in the child's nail
scratching away at the crayola color explosion paper.
under layer. cleared away.
darkness reveals the flashing neon lights.

open twenty-four seven

l i v e !

(it is very dark right now as we finish packing up the car to take off for a visit with favorite friends. it's also the first day of Christmas! so we begin celebrating for the next twelve days Jesus being the light of the world. we'll turn out the lights, light one candle each night, sing, read and most likely laugh. have a happy monday! )

  2. Sarah, love this idea. love your vision and words. love you. i may talk to my partner at www.onedandelion.wordpress.com and we may join you in this endeavor. we've been talking about using a theme or idea to help guide our creative pursuits.....i'd love to know more too about what camera/lenses you are loving and how you post-process.
