my heart kept skipping a beat, bursting with gladness.
the acceptance of authenticity (removing your hat regardless of the messy hair beneath; or eating the last of the salad from the serving bowl) being exactly who you are: broken, excited, sad, off-balance, quiet, thankful, confused, anxious, happy, content, joyful...
casual conversation. sharing life.
serving together, eating together, laughing together, crying together.
loving each other's children from the 20 somethings to the 2 year olds.
listening. offering. listening.
carrying throughout the week in our minds, hearts & hands.
more than a perfect way to kick off our weekend
(and the best holiday party i've ever attended & it wasn't even a holiday party, but it was...that's what happens.)
(hi J! i'm looking at you, waving.)

ReplyDeleteOK I have to come out of lurking to defend ourselves. We are too square and boring to be spies!!!!!

ReplyDelete" L I E S ! "
Yelling it to the rafters, we are...that Eric. I'm designating a file for him right now...OOPS. Cover blown.
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE you all. That was so special to us! We had great conversations today because of last night. We do have the best group ever!
ReplyDeleteSo happy, but so envious. Glad it was wonderful. :)
ReplyDeleteYou know that it's a strong connection when you can remove your hat and not care about what lies beneath. :) You also forgot to mention telling friends to take the "ugly" muffin instead of the nice looking ones is being quite authentic. I'm so glad you have a great community. Truly a blessing!
