{ running an errand }

Untitled

finally we had an errand we could walk to! one of the two downfalls to where we live is that we need to drive most places.  our state park pass had expired and we needed to purchase another one. we hoofed ourselves down to the state park headquarters and made our purchase. this is what running errands looks like in our neighborhood neck of the woods.

rock hop across the creek vs. using the bridge. i loved watching Ocean help Phoenix and offer to assist Elli.  she loves little ones, not only others, but the ones very close too. she has a gift (among many).

waiting while the dog romps and sisters make their way below.

trail side snacks.

the huckleberries are abundant right now and we need to go out with a basket.

one was annoyed that three kept stopping to snack so she snagged me a twig.

a faithful walking buddy.
waiting so patiently while we made our purchase & explored.

explored through the nature center. on the walk back i was filled in that there used to be a dozen different types of redwood trees, but now there are only four. three species reside here in our woods and one in central china. we also began wondering the difference between lichen and moss. promptly researching that after grabbing lunch once home we found the answer.

she thought if she just fell asleep on the trail i would carry her the 1.5 miles back home.

she was wrong.

usually we run barefoot. it made me smile to see they both threw on hotdog socks & hand-me-down saucony's.

we love where we live.
