support a friends local business even if the service is rude and the product is so-so or go corporate where you know you will be treated well, taken care of with consistency of product?
go corporate and let the friend gently know that I want to support them but they have work to do. I'd hope that my friend wants to be better than the corporation.
take a break from the friend's business, but tell them so they can make a change. i guarantee that you are not the only one who is walking away with a bad experience. they are losing business. i have been in a similar situation and totally chickened out and did not say anything.
