they all asked for waffles, the five giggling gaggle of girls. it's become the morning tradition for their spend overs. waffles served with coconut, chocolate chips, berries, butter (chocolate being the most important to have on hand). i grabbed the fannie farmer book off the shelf. the book my grandpa gave me, one i wondered if i'd ever use, but kept because it was from him. i opened the book to find a hidden treasure, a well wish, a blessing as i entered the day. the book no longer sits on the shelf, it sits on the counter with all my other go to cookbooks, because it was hers, my grandma jean. the clover tells all, this was her book, used tried and true. i will pass on her kitchen tradition and my heart swells. i pass on pieces of her love, sweetness, character and creativity. you never know when a reminder of how you want to live your life will pop up and kiss you on the cheek.
Odd; I thought I commented on this last week, but now it's not here. Must have been operator error.
