m a k i n g : :

thought i'd share a little making that was done for my youngest who recently had a birthday. if you follow my twitter feed you would have heard a lot of talk about what should be made? would i have enough time? my baby is turning S E V E N ! and knit... knit... knit...
i decided to whip some of Lee Meredith's "Twisted Ankles" out of some gorgeous superwash merino wool (that way i can throw them in the washing machine & they won't shrink)! i was looking for something quick (ie. bulky yarn), fun (what!? she's 7!), and funky (this girl has a keen sense of style). the "twisted ankles" fit the bill.
(making the decision on buttons was the most difficult part of the making! so eventually i decided one can't go wrong with "electric banana" yellow)
not only were they fun for me to make they came together rather quickly. most importantly, she loves them! i made the 'tall' size so they will grow with her into adulthood (if she so desired, simply by adjusting the placement of the buttons).

the making details:
yarn- malabrigo yarn: rios / colorway 'azul profundo.'
needle size- US 10.5 needles

and, epp! i almost forgot! H a p p y H a l l o w e e n !

we are off to go whale watching!
(in an honest to goodness boat!! not just standing safely on solid ground or a fairly secure [what?] wharf, we're all a bit nervous, but more excited by far! watch out sea legs, here we come! [can that happen in just a few short hours?] we'll soon find out!)
