i took most of yesterday to myself. writing one haiku over and over again....it always had the same first line. the second line would change slightly and the last was always different. it had something to do with accidentally dropping the f-bomb & remembering i'm just human.

i needed alone time, bad. i needed it outside. fresh air & light. a chill to my bones. i need windows free of covering, i need the lights on, i need light. the looming winter days carry darkness all but a few wee hours within each one, so i took to the woods. i found an open place to sling up the hammock. i carried with me the essentials: journal, water, knitting, tangerine, hammock, pen + camera. the dog came too, a companion i could handle & that could handle me.

i am just human.
what? i'm human too.
