solstice to solstice [w.13-13]

{ c 2 5 k }

i've picked up running again (jogging really as i'm slow as a turtle, but steady, so that's what matters). i started in a few weeks ago on the c25k program. i just started week 7 which consists of running for 25 minutes. not bad (coming from the girl who never ran a mile until just a few years ago and who is constantly fighting a mind battle against her own brain saying 'you can't do this'). i've done the c25k before, several times actually, and gone beyond by adding miles to the three this program works you up to. the longest run i've ever done was with my friend lori (hi!), my old neighbor & dear friend. we ran to the nearest town, 7 miles away, just for fun and asked her mother-in-law to pick us up and drive us home. it was fun and i think we both still feel accomplished by that. it really was fun. today i went out because if i'm going to do this i need to stay consistent. it's easy for me to lose motivation if i miss a day (every other day). i had a stuffy head, runny nose, headache and scratchy throat but went anyway.

and when i got home, the hammock never felt so good.

rest.

  2. something in me longs to run, and yet, never a runner, shall i begin now that i am 46? my partner just began triathlon-ing in the last year and a half and he is so inspirational! he is near my age, i suppose it can be done.

    i love this last image.
