. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
a year in photos project complete.
366 day's of one photo joined with a few words.
everyday. consecutively.
from the first day i told myself one month at a time. it wasn't until the summer months i even verbalized the photo-a-day personal project i was doing to friends. of course they saw that i was taking photos on a regular basis, but i had never *said* i was doing it. i don't know if i will continue or not for the next 12 months, but i do know i will take photographs documenting our life, put words with an image and take it one day at a time. i've thoroughly enjoyed seeing the moments of life everyday. documenting through power outages, up's and down's, birthdays, weddings, trips, adventures, errands.
the simple lovely everyday.
"Write it on your heart
that every day is the best day in the year.
He is rich who owns the day, and no one owns the day
who allows it to be invaded with fret and anxiety.
Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could.
Some blunders and absurdities, no doubt crept in.
Forget them as soon as you can, tomorrow is a new day;
begin it well and serenely, with too high a spirit
to be cumbered with your old nonsense.
This new day is too dear,
with it's hopes and invitations,
to waste a moment on the yesterdays."
~Emerson
here is the collection from november 2011 thru october 2012.
each the best day of the year.
enjoy!
(also, if you are so inclined, one of my favorite collaborations 'Habit' has opened up their flickr pool for anyone to offer their everyday, as it is (no staging!) life. i know it was great practice for me to participate in this last year when offered. apparently it worked too getting me into the habit.)
i have enjoyed the views into your life.
ReplyDeleteand please know, this quote struck my spirit and drove home the message i need so very much.
thankyou for sharing these beautiful words. the habit project sounds like a beautiful way to appreciate the string of days. happy weekend :)
ReplyDeleteone of life's blessings i am grateful for over and over again... a new day. i can't wait to read this to my kids.
ReplyDeletei think it was habit, years ago, that got me thinking about picking up the camera. i came across it and started reading blogs then... just when it got started. i remember wanting to participate last year, and it was certainly my inspiration for my first 31 days. after those 31 days, i kept going. something about it helps the time to slow down just a little, helps me give thought to what is important.
sarah. you are amazing.
