we didn't find much, other than time to visit and explore in the woods. there were lots of LBM's (little brown mushrooms, new to us term), different death caps, slippery jacks and others i'm forgetting the name of (like the fried egg one above, second photo) or the ones we were unsure of (like the ones looking straight up at you as if the earth's eyeballs). we did find some candy caps just outside our house which ashley took home to double verify with her expert mushroom forging partner. we also found a couple soggy oyster shrooms that ended up being tossed into our hungarian mushroom soup that night for some foraging gratification (not to mention all the huckleberries shoved into our mouths like lumbering bears off to hibernate for the long winter).

looks like you found some jelly tooths too, a little sweet at the right stage (in your second to last, and last image) but they may just be something similar, they have look-a-likes :)
ReplyDeletesome of our best times with others have been spent mushroom foraging, even when we only find lbm's. the awareness and the presence of mind when doing these re-skilling pursuits is so nourishing. xo
