big box bliss

last night a BIG box was dropped outside our front door by a neighbor friend. he left it there just incase the girls would like to use it for "something". so thoughtful. they had a bit of cleaning up in their room to do and then i had them close their eyes for a suprise. they were thrilled with the box. here they are figuring out together where windows, doors, ect...should go. i made breakfast in quiet. after breakfast was prepared. i came in with a knife and cut their lines, making sure i had open they way they envisioned. they were sure i would be shocked at their creativity....with all the skylights, and 2 chimneys! they call themselves jessie and violet (the boxcar girls, you know). phoenix can either choose to be watch (the dog) or benny (the little brother who likes to eat). the boxcar children are very resourceful you know and love to solve mysteries so that is what my girls are doing.
they plan on painting and coloring the box so it is just right and a lovely spot to reside. our kitty coconut even likes it...as you can see. not only are they in heaven with this simple object, but it gives me some time to observe, reflect, prepare and create. bliss.
