stop moping start hoping

***for a week that is truly filled with quite a bit of heartache this is a good reminder. enough of that however...moving on.
***the girls and i took tuesday and went down to monterey california. we visited the aquarium and dennis the menace park. the aquarium was packed!! i could count on my two hands all the fish
and/or sea life we actually were able to watch for a good long time....not too much being there were so many heads and shoulders to try and see past. But, we did enjoy our time and what we *were* able to see....like the monkey faced eel or the ever so amazing tank with seahorses. we are thankful to have a membership so we can go back in about a month when the crowds have dwindled. After a nice picnic lunch outside, we headed over to a fantastic playground/park called 'dennis the menace park'. i was surprised to find a lot of their old and amazing slides taken out, but happy to see tons of newer and very fun play "stuff". the girls each had a ball and i enjoyed watching them laugh, run, slide, climb and play.
***i have a few projects going on here at the moment. crocheting a little "bobble" hat for a dear friends new baby, Luka. don't know when i will be able to meet the little squirt since she lives on the other side of the country, but i am hopeful that it will be sooner than later! i have a dress in the works for ellibella and some embroidery projects on the mind. now i just need to get that little craft room of mine tidied up again so i can find the supplies i need and really be able to just relax and enjoy the process of creating. hmmm. love it.
***running has squeezed its way back into my life that past couple weeks. this past weekend my entire family and i (as well as about 15 summer staff members) ran/jogged/skipped/+danced our way through the "best little road race in california" called the "wharf to wharf". it is a 6 mile jaunt through the streets of santa cruz along the coast as much as possible. about 40 bands play all along the way with residents along the route outside cheering the participants along with shouts of encouragement and sprays of cold water from the hose. we found out the night before the run that it was NOT a wheel friendly event, so no stroller. eric ergo'd phoenix....he is used to running 8 miles hard, so six miles easy with a babe felt and easy endeavor for him. ocean and ellibella did great....they felt very proud at the end and want to do it again next year. we (as in eric and i) had to exert a lot of energy to get them motivated to ...k..e..e..p....g..o..i..n..g.....but they did it and we had a great time together!!! to keep it up and hopefully participate in more 10k's i am continuing to run every other day. hmmm. loving it.
