happy new year!!!

like turning a page in a book or starting a new chapter...that's probably more like it. lot's of people think new year resolutions are for the birds, if you want to make a change just do it now, don't wait for the new year sort of thing. but i like them. i didn't really make any new ones last year and i don't have any *really* planned this year either, but i love the idea of starting fresh. my brain works well with it. i hope we take out less trash this year. i hope we are able to utilize the farmers market more this year. i hope my knitting becomes more consistent and much better quality this year. these three thing are tangible....within my reach. i would also like to keep on top of the laundry this year (and that doesn't mean: lounge on top of the pile of laundry sitting on the sofa watching a movie-we already do that). i would like our car to stay tidy. i would like to *not* step on kitty litter EVER in 2008 when i get out of the shower. however, i am not sure these three things are within reach. too many goals and i may not succeed, so i will just stick to the first three and hope for the best. i hope your day has been relaxing and a nice start to the new year. we brought in the new year with some old time friends. friends since 1995, their children are our children's dearest friends (aside from cousins). the adults were wild i tell you (we calculated our smurf personalities, one daddy fell asleep 10 minutes before the new year, and i finished knitting eric's hat). the children stayed up playing together and hanging out....doing a little jig and laying on the floor in the shape of 2008 bringing in the new year. we're weird.
