especially if we choose to camp with people we've never actually met and they turn out to be just as great as they were in emails and two short phone conversations....we'll, one long phone conversation and one short one. molly's photos didn't lie, her blog wasn't creating something that isn't. my flickr, turned reality in person, friend turned out to be a real treasure in person just as she's been through our long emails back and forth. the fresh air, crisp and cool. the ocean breeze. yummy food....all food tastes better outside and we had good food to begin with [expect the nasty coffee i brought. even being outside didn't help that. word to the wise, never buy traders joe's organic fair trade ethiopian medium dark roast coffee. yuck!]

i wondered how our children would get along. didn't need to even give it a thought. they all felt so comfortable with one another. from tent to tent to trailer. bikes, beach, foot baths, bathroom breaks, mysteries, a bottle of 'pee?' and who knows what else as they explored and enjoyed one another as the mommas were able to chat, connect, sit, and simply be.

molly's mother and father in-law came to enjoy using their camping trailer. turned out to be so so nice having them there. molly was sick sick sick the first night, dreaming about a table cloth, not being able to shake that out of her stuffy head....we all know how that is. all the children loved waking up and heading in with the grandparents. it was warm, they had treats and peppered bacon, they were so sweet with welcome hands to my children as if they were their own grandchildren. my fifi would even stay cozy in the trailer with them after the big kids left, just chillin' with grandma and grandpa, eating bacon.

we heart camping and are already planning another trip together. our children can't wait to be in contact again as pen pals, blogging and in person....sharing life. i am surprised at the connections that can be made through the world wide web. though i still need to wrap my brain around it to a certain degree, i am more than thankful to have found this like minded momma, home schooler, crafter, baker/cooker, writer, biker, repurposer and so much more extraordinaire
i'm speechless...and teary...this like minded momma needs time to wrap her head around it all too, perhaps over a cup of coffee with a side of peppered bacon. did i happen to tell you i'm horrible with compliments? yet another difference we can enjoy, like doing dishes while camping.
