god give me the serenity
to accept the things i cannot change,
the courage to change the things that i can,
+ the wisdom to know the difference.
the courage to change the things that i can,
+ the wisdom to know the difference.

excerpt from 'Momma Zen" by Karen Maezen Miller
with the whole self-discovery thing never-ending and our children ever changing and life always throwing in curve balls i never know what to expect of a new day. i succeed and fail around every corner and my desire is to recognize i am new each day, each moment. i desire to keep from getting caught up on my mistakes and use them as a catapult of better response, deep breathing, self-control launching me to the courage to change the things that i can. today is a new day. it is a new morning. it is a new moment. have you read 'all in a day' ? it's a keeper and becoming a morning ritual to start our off our day right: together, remembering there will be up's and down's but we have the incalculable number of chances to change the ending.

ReplyDeleteLots of changes here, and I found myself saying be here now to myself about 100 times yesterday. I love the concept of mistakes as a catapult of better response. So powerful and so human. I will take this into my next few days with me.
