you know how some people are just born good at something. they possess a natural talent. skilled in athletics weather that's running or surfing, they're just good at it. how about musically. gosh, i always wished i was musically gifted....playing piano wasn't something that came naturally for me, i had to memorize the songs measure by measure and then play by memory pretending to be reading the music. and singing, well, lets just not venture down that path. how about creativity, some people just have down right fantastic ideas that are so stinking creative! not me. i would think, maybe ______ [fill in the blank: climbing, basketball, painting, writing, surfing, laughing, napping] will be my special talent/gift and i would try it and realize, nope, not my gift....and i would go on wondering what my gift would be. i wanted to find out early in life so i could be really good at something. not have to work so hard. try so hard. well, i never found that talent and in my late teen years/early twenties i came to the conclusion i did not have a natural talent, i would need to work on everything, anything i wanted to be good at i would have to work hard and practice tons. then i got pregnant, went into labor, gave birth and it was good. then i got pregnant again, went into labor, gave birth and came to a new conclusion: giving birth was my natural talent. however, i got pregnant again, went into labor, gave birth and decided....no actually, that isn't my natural talent. with each of these little people in my life however, i have truly discovered my one and only natural talent/gift....pulling out teeth.

[ if you have a child in need, give me a call. children who i don't know have let me pull out their teeth with fantastic results ]

  2. we'll have to call and make an appointment the next time we have a loose tooth! and BTW, i am quite sure you have many, many other natural talents, and i think humility is one of them.

  3. Now I remember the other reason Grace said we need to see you soon! She has a loose tooth that she needs you to pull out. Won't let me do it (I'm still trying to discover my natural talent).
