{sisterhood}
if you're friends with me on facebook you may have already heard this, but it's worth remembering so i'm putting it here too. lately when we've been out and about my children have requested that we 'sometimes' pretend that i'm their big sister instead of momma. other times when we are home, they actually plan before we leave how we'll act it out, what we'll say at the park or in the store. i find this to be one of the greatest compliments they've given me yet. i don't know why, i never had a big sister to admire or look up to, i guess i just imagine that's what i'd do. i feel so very honored that they would request i pretend to be their big sister. amazed that they could use their imaginations in such a way, thinking of me as something other than their mother, makes me feel they understand i am something more than just a mother. it gives me hope that during times in their life when they need a mother and a friend, i might just be able to fit the bill.

It's so encouraging to see the way you and Eric parent your lovely daughters. When I was being raised I sometimes pretended that my dad was my brother or that my mom was my sister, and I think that is one reason why I consider them two of my best friends as an adult now. You are a great mother and I love reading about your adventures with your family.
