postcard:: sixteen
well I guess i'll chalk it up to living in the moment that i don't have any photos yet in my possession of my grandpa or auntie or cousins and their darling children...we've just been talking and hugging. I love looking in their eyes, listening to their accent, just being able to stand or sit right there with them...present without the pressure I put on myself to capture it any other way than within. next time, I'll start snapping because I do love the end result and they way it can keep a memory safe from aging and distraction of the mind. one day we might look at this needle work photo and wonder what family member spent their time and creative energy to produce such art, and we will be able to look back here and learn it was nobody in our family, it was the art deco in the outhouse at the MN state park we visited during our stay up north visiting family and swimming in the fresh water lakes, waking up to the call of the loons. Because, you see, distraction is what I do need standing in an outhouse waiting for three younger humans when nature calls.
