where i grew up it wasn't required to cover textbooks so i had never made a paper bag book cover before. phoenix found an old notebook with somebody else's name on it & wanted to make it her own. after looking at a brief tutorial she got to work.

the perfect blank canvas for decorating with stickers.
i like how she kept the puffy puzzle piece stickers together.
now when this notebook is filled up she can move the cover to a different one.
i had been given a notebook with artwork painted on a paper bag cover over ten years ago from an artist friend of mine. i still use it and move it from one notebook to another.

i see more of these in the making for future gift giving.

  1. we always had to make book covers in high school - with paper bags, but i've completely forgotten how!! i love every single one of these images. your focus and tones are always so compelling.
