we spent the afternoon up in the mountains playing and picnicking yesterday. it was so warm in town, that i actually wasn't quite prepared enough, well, had it been a tad bit cooler we would have had to cut our time short, so let's rewind a bit and just say it was perfect! chilly, autumn perfection! we had planned on hiking, but once we arrived, having the entire "boulder creek" river (how ironic) to ourselves, we just stayed put and explored. my sister in law and i were able to knit a little here and there. the siblings and cousins all played super well together....seeking out ways to get across without getting wet, "fishing", walking + talking, and sailing on boulder boats. my nieces have writing prompts they do for school each night. here is one i found deserted on the kitchen counter this evening at grandma's house.
adventures in the mountainsyesterday, wednesday 7, 2007, was terrific! I took a day off of school to play with my cousins from california. We went to the mountains! It was an absolute blast! On the drive there, my cousin, Ocean, and I counted yellow cars. There, we had 30. Soon enough, we were there ready to play! But before anything else, it was time to eat lunch! My lunch was a turkey sandwich and a tootsie roll. Yum! As soon as we were done we started to play. At that point, we didn't know what to do! Then we decided to jump across the river on rocks. It was harder than you think. The mountains are so much fun! ~
