solstice to solstice: autumn week 3 concluded.

solstice to solstice: fade

i'd be lying if i said this prompt wasn't a challenge for me.  like most things you need to keep putting one foot in front of the other rather than simply waiting for inspiration to come, so i kept thinking, looking, creating with the word fade in mind.  watching the sunset fade over the horizon and behind the trees, seeing the season of clothesline use fade before my very own eyes with our season's first rain (which hasn't stopped), but none of this felt right.  it wasn't until after a full pisser of a thursday, the day i usually post solstice to solstice, that it did simply come to me.

 it arrived via text.

one simple text prompted great creativity which caused all 'long thursday i'm in a funk & can't seem to shake them off' woes to fade. (we even went to the beach and i still couldn't shake it.)

laughter is great medicine and the texting conversation with my dear sweet too far away friend turned the whole day around.  i fell asleep in stitches and woke up finding myself spontaneously combusting just thinking about it.  i'm not going to share the words here, but know they were creatively used, creatively placed and creatively dug up from some various deep vocabulary vaults.

.  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .

this week focus on white.
it will complete another four pack.
we had four prompts stay the same for all four seasons.

  1. Just read this. I want to preserve those texts in some deep cavernous vaults. It's been a challenging week. I think I'll read them again. xo
