solstice to solstice : : autumn week 12

following verbal instruction from my mom (several times over), the butcher (and practically the baker and candle stick maker too); written instruction from several books, apps and blogs i settled on final, right in front of my guidance, from the pioneer woman.  feeling domestic and pioneer'esk that i was, making my very first ever (ever ever!) pot roast, i thought this was a good choice. (does that count for one of the longest run-on sentences? please excuse my grammar.)

from the fresh rosemary plucked from the big plant along our drive to the strong scent of onion our kitchen was smelling delicious.  we had already made rosemary crackers and chocolate/coconut scones. yummo.

i'm not sure what possessed me to move in the direction of making a pot roast...perhaps tasting my mom's while we drove east or being in the midwest recently or growing up just a little more into my own mindfulness.  it doesn't really matter, what matters is moving in your direction, following your path, being mindful as you go.

happy trails!

  1. Love the fresh stalks of rosemary in it. It looks perfect, delicious, cozy, and warm. Just right for a rainy, woodsy day.
